Check out the latest recommendations of the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF). These preventive medicine guidelines cover three domains: counseling, preventive medication, and screening. IFEHC uses recommendations given Grade A or B and encourages its patients to be familiar with these guidelines.

Defensive medicine is the ordering of unnecessary tests with the intention of reducing litigation. Unfortunately, unnecessary tests can pose harms. They can also lead to false positives and incorrect management. In short, unnecessary tests can be incredibly dangerous. This resource is a non-exhaustive guide that considers circumstances when additional testing is not needed.
