You must be a permanent resident of one of the 17 Noncoastal Western states or one of the two Western Gulf Coast states at the time of service. You must not be part of Medicare, Medicaid, or any insurance program. Your case must be a good fit. The Medical Director has sole discretion in making this determination. Thus, the Medical Director has sole discretion in determining who qualifies for charitable rates. In the interest of expediting services, IFEHC largely takes the word of patients and examinees regarding their eligibility. However, IFEHC reserves the right to verify the information. Should IFEHC determine that an individual is NOT eligible, it has the right to collect what it is owed. In asking for charitable rates, you consent to our ability to use collection services and legal avenues available. This includes forwarding your name and contact information to such third parties.

IFEHC is busy running four separate programs (each listed under this tab). It offers its various services at low cost or for free. Appointments fill fast. In addition, the Medical Director provides top-notch care to every patient he treats and wants to minimie interruptions. Furthermore, it is in the patients' best interest to talk with the Medical Director to make sure that IFEHC's facilities are appropriate for those individuals' needs. Moreover; the by appointment only basis puts IFEHC in a position to maximize patient privacy by minimizing interactions with other patients and by allowing IFEHC to account for all individuals who enter its premises. Finally, an important implication during the pandemic of the preceding point is that disease transmission is negligible if patients are not interacting.
Triage is a process of assigning urgency to medical issues. All facilities undergo this process in some form or another. When the Medical Director is reached, he determines that the case is an appropriate one for this clinic. The Medical Director could decide the following:

We are proud to announce that we now administer a limited number of treatments such as antibiotics. We also give certain vaccinations: annual influenza, Tdap (adult), and Hepatitis B (adult).
However; NO medications are dispensed on premises. This means we do not give out any medications to be consumed off-premises. Very important is that IFEHC does NOT dispense or have any controlled substances on premises. IFEHC will write prescriptions (of NON-controlled substances) if appropriate. This is why we do not treat medical emergencies or even urgencies that require medication administration.
Registration is a simple process.

Not financially. However, IFEHC will work with the patients to determine barriers to accessibility and reduce those barriers. Once appropriate treatments are found, IFEHC will work with patients to find the best prices available. This includes talking with pharmacists if necessary. This can be a multidisciplinary effort that includes involving many entities in the healthcare system.
Disclaimer: This discussion only applies to individuals who are eligible for free services.
Charitable means the services are at a reduced rate for those who demonstrate financial hardship. However, all patients and examinees (not covered by employers) should expect to cover costs IFEHC incurs. This includes diagnostic tests and treatments.

A physician-patient relationship begins as soon as an individual appears for a scheduled appointment and complies with recommendations. A physician-patient relationship terminates if a patient fails to appear for scheduled appointments without advance notice or if the patient habitually defies medical advice. Triage (including accepting images germane to advice) does not count as establishing a physician-patient relationship. There is no longitudinal physician-patient relationship if the patient already has an established primary care provider.
Of note; the American Medical Association recognizes in its Code of Ethics that, except for emergencies, physicians are free to accept or decline patients. IFEHC does not guarantee that anyone will be accepted as a patient. Among certain considerations are the Medical Director's assessment of the patient's compliance with treatment, the patient's (or caretaker's) understanding of his/her condition, and whether or not the individual already has established relationships with healthcare providers.
